Thank you for the book that I received this week. I took it to the beauty shop to read while under the dryer. I came home and sat down to finish it. The guilt of sitting and reading was there but then along came the rain and thunderstorm promised for the afternoon. Guilt does play TOO much in our lives even when we know it when it crops up.
Legalism is truly the weapon of satan!!!! But it is also being used by the Holy Spirit to break up the denominations of this time. People are becoming tired of the tasteless time in worship services. Worship brings us into the inner court!!!!
At the prison at which I volunteer, we have 2 ministries that come in on Sunday that provide true worship times. The men are beginning to enjoy and enter in. We then challenge them to find a worship time at a church that fulfills their needs when they are released. I am more of a teacher than a preacher so when I have to be the Sunday service it is a different time. A younger man and I are there under the umbrella of Prison Fellowship. As a team we work well, since I teach and he is the Bible knowledge and bring in more application.
We just finished a video series by Bob Mumford on "Breaking Out" that explains so very much about the carnal us and the spiritual us. He teaches the difference and about eros and agape love. I felt so many times in reading that you were talking about me. My late husband and I came out of the United Methodist church into a missionary minded group. I sought the Holy Spirit back in the 70's and kept growing until he had to come out also. God is so good!! Jesus is the only way!!
I couldn't do without the Holy Spirit nudging me out of my ruts!! Being a single is good and not so good. I wish for someone to share life but it is nice to be alone with the Holy Spirit.
